The N1 South before the Maraisburg offramp has been closed after a diesel spill.
The Johannesburg Metro Police Department JMPD says traffic is backed up all the way to Beyers Naude Drive in Randburg.
It says the diesel spill occurred from one of two trucks which collided.
It has advised motorists to use alternative routes.
JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla says emergency responders and law enforcement are on the scene.
