The Musina Municipal Council in Limpopo is split over the suspension of Municipal Manager, Nathaniel Tshiwanammbi. The special council sitting held last week resolved to suspend Tshiwanammbi on alleged corruption relating to the extension of the contract of a security company.
Opposing the suspension, Mayor Godfrey Mawela, wrote a letter to Tshiwanammbi, and informed him that he remains the appointed Municipal Manager, as the executive committee did not sanction the suspension.
On the contrary, ANC councilor and Chief Whip, Fistos Mafela, says all councillors were given an opportunity to vote in council and some decided to abstain.
