Along with several closures of camps and roads in Kruger National Park , specific tourism sites in Mpumalanga have temporarily closed following heavy rainfall with authorities citing safety concerns.
The Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency confirmed the temporary closure of Bourkes Luck Potholes. In addition, The South African Forestry Company Limited SAFCOL announced the temporary closure of Lone Creek Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, Forest Falls and Mac Mac Pools in Sabie. The closures took effect from January 12 and will remain in place until further notice. SAFCOL said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure as current water levels are unsafe for public access.
Graskop Gorge Lift Co also announced the suspension of all activities from January 12-13 and confirmed the attraction will assess the situation today January 14 to determine if the suspension should be extended or not.
