Safaricom PLC has reported strong financial results for the half year ended September 2025, driven by continued growth in M-PESA, which remains at the core of the company's revenue and innovation strategy. Service revenue in Kenya grew by 9.3 to KSh. 194.0 billion, with M-PESA contributing 45.4 or KSh. 88.1 billion of that total.

M-PESA sustained its double-digit growth trajectory, expanding its user base to 37.9 million monthly active customers. Notably, more than 13.2 billion of these transactions were conducted under the free M-PESA Kadogo band, underscoring the platform's role in promoting financial inclusion.

In Ethiopia, M-PESA continued its rapid adoption, recording 8.6 million active monthly customers and 84.74 million transactions worth KSh. 11.74 billion during the period.
