The Government of Mozambique, through the Ministry of Communications and Digital Transformation, has issued a Request for Bids RFB under the Mozambique Digital Acceleration Project MDAP to expand broadband coverage in rural areas. The initiative is being financed by the World Bank and forms part of the country's broader efforts to accelerate digital inclusion and connectivity nationwide.
According to the notice, Mozambique has secured funding from the International Development Association IDA under Loan/Grant No. IDA-71820-MZ and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward investments in telecommunications services aimed at improving broadband access in underserved rural communities.
The procurement process invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for non-consulting services covering three geographic lots. These include Lot 1 for the South and Central Zone covering 95 localities, Lot 2 for the Central Zone covering 101 localities, and Lot 3 for the North Zone covering 105 localities. The project seeks to significantly increase broadband reach across these regions.
