South Africas Teboho Mokoena credited former teammate Percy Tau and head coach Hugo Broos after achieving his 50th cap for the nation.

Mokoena started in Bafana Bafanas 3-1 win in an international friendly against Zambia at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in the Eastern Cape on Saturday. He was subbed in 46th minute for Thalente Mbatha.

Mokoena made his debut under then head coach Staurt Baxter in March 2018 and has shone in national colours since. He has become an integral part of the national sides midfield, becoming a regular starter under Hugo Broos and was a part of the team that claimed the bronze medal at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations AFCON and recently earned qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
