Mohamed Abdelmonem Suffers Acl Injury, Faces Lengthy Layoff

Mohamed Abdelmonem has been ruled out for several months after suffering an injury during Nice's 3-1 victory over Ligue 1 leaders PSG.
The 26-year-old center-back collapsed in the 63rd minute at the Parc des Princes and was stretchered off the field, sparking immediate fears of a serious injury. Nice confirmed the worst on Saturday, announcing that medical examinations revealed a ruptured ACL in Abdelmonem's right knee.

Mohamed Abdelmonem, who joined Nice from Al Ahly last summer , has struggled through multiple injuries since making the move, making only 18 appearances this season.
Although the duration of his recovery is yet to be known, the defenders chances of featuring for Egypt in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations appear now to be significantly in doubt.
Despite the bittersweet nature of Fridays win, Nice continue to push for a strong finish to the season, sitting fourth in the Ligue 1 table with 54 points from 31 games, 24 points adrift of leaders PSG.
