The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George MP, has dismissed speculation about a potential merger or acquisition involving Airtel Ghana Limited AT, following recent regulatory measures aimed at protecting subscribers.
At a media briefing, Hon. George clarified that the ongoing interventions, which include migrating AT subscribers onto Telecel's network and appointing a transaction advisor, are emergency measures designed to ensure uninterrupted service for more than three million customers.
"Let me be clear that this current arrangement is not a merger or acquisition. We will only know and take that decision after the transaction advisor completes its work and presents its recommendations for consideration by Government."
