AC Milan head into their Serie A clash with Cagliari aiming to regain momentum after a mixed end to 2025. Their Supercoppa Italiana defence came to an early end following a 2-0 semi-final defeat , bringing a frustrating halt to their cup campaign. However, they responded well in the league with a convincing win over Hellas Verona.
SoftFootball reported that Milan briefly returned to the top of the Serie A table after scoring three goals in a quick spell against Verona. Christian Pulisic opened the scoring, before Christopher Nkunku scored twice to seal a 3-0 victory , continuing his strong form in a dominant win at San Siro.
