Milan will increase its tourist tax from January 1 next year ahead of the upcoming Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics. The increase will only be valid for 2026 and will affect all types of tourist accommodation.

In Milan, the new rates per person per night will be:

10 R200 in four- and five-star hotels

7,40 R148 in three-star hotels

5 R100 in two-star hotels

4 R80 in one-star hotels

9,50 R190 in short-term rentals and B Bs
