The family of the late former African National Congress Youth League Secretary-General, Sindiso Magaqa, has welcomed the sentencing of Sbusiso Ncengwa who pleaded guilty to his murder.
Ncengwa has been sentenced to 25 years imprisonment for Magaqas murder by the Pietermaritzburg Magistrates Court.
Ncengwa faced 11 charges including conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, malicious damage to property, possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.
Magaqa and two other councillors were injured when attackers opened fire on his car in July 2017 and died in hospital months later.
Magaqas brother Lwazi says the family is still calling for the arrest of the mastermind.
