Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says that preliminary findings suggest the shooting of the taxi boss and his bodyguard in an ambush in Marlboro might be linked to taxi violence.
The Alexandra Randburg Midrand Sandton Taxi Association ARMSTA Chairman has been shot and killed in Marlboro, north of Johannesburg, on Thursday morning.
One of his bodyguards also died at the scene, while a second bodyguard and a motorist were rushed to hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds.
