Mandla Mashimbyi has been appointed as the new full-time head coach of the Proteas Women's cricket team. The 44-year-old takes over from Hilton Moreeng, who served as the team's head coach for 11 years before stepping down in May this year. Dillon du Preez had temporarily filled the role since Moreeng's departure.
Mashimbyi, a former professional cricketer with the Titans, Knights, and Griquas, brings over a decade of coaching experience at both domestic and international levels. He has been part of multiple championship-winning teams with the Titans and has also worked as a bowling coach and assistant with the Proteas men's team. Most recently, Mashimbyi served as the fast bowling coach for the SA20 team Paarl Royals.
