Delft police registered an attempted murder case after a man was shot on 27 November 2025 at about 11:20 at the footbridge on the R300 near Silversand, police told Cape town Etc .
Police said the man was walking home towards Wesbank when an unidentified man walked past and began shooting at him at random. The suspect ran off towards Delft and police are investigating the motive.
