A man from Samora Machell in Philippi on the Cape Flats had been shot and killed.
Police spokesperson Joseph Swartbooi says the man was walking down the street when a gunman opened fire on him last night.
An unknown gunman opened fire on a male walking near the corners of Galawene and Harry Gwala Streets, after which he fled the scene. This 23-year-old man did not survive the onslaught on his life and was declared deceased on the scene by the medical personnel. The motive for this attack is yet to be determined.
