Mallorcas capital, Palma, has introduced a series of bans and restrictions across the municipality to promote sustainable tourism.
Palmas mayor has implemented a ban on new tourist rentals. If current rental permits are cancelled, new permits will not be issued.
The opening of new hostels will also be banned and existing ones will be encouraged to convert into hotels or residential housing, according to Majorca Daily Bulletin .
