The Border Management Authority BMA has confirmed major disruptions to smuggling activities at the Beitbridge Port of Entry during festive season operations.

BMA Commissioner Dr Michael Masiapato says the interceptions took place on 15 December 2025.

Since the start of the 2025/26 festive season, the BMA has seized illicit goods worth over R900,000. These include non-perishable food items, 210 car batteries, and a Hyundai H100 truck. The successes were achieved through advanced surveillance technology deployed in high-risk areas.
