Build One South Africa BOSA party leader Mmusi Maimane says a motion of no confidence in President Cyril Ramaphosa would be nothing but cheap political point scoring.
That move would be disastrous for the people of South Africa. It is important that the GNU tables a credible plan, creates policy certainty, and ultimately achieves a space where investors can come into South Africa. This is so that our economy can grow. What BOSA is looking forward to is ensuring that there is stability and putting the people of South Africa first. Therefore, it then becomes important that issues inside the GNU need to be resolved quickly. We will focus on an economic plan and ultimately, we will hold the government accountable for that plan.
Meanwhile, the African National Congress ANC continues to defend President Cyril Ramaphosa s decision to fire former deputy minister Andrew Whitfield, saying he failed to comply with the code of conduct of executive members.
The Democratic Alliance DA has since announced that it will not be taking part in the National Dialogue announced recently by Ramaphosa after what it says is bad treatment of the DA.
The DA says the President was quick to act against Whitfield but continues to protect corrupt ANC cabinet ministers.
