In a significant development, the International Cricket Council ICC has released the updated schedule for the upcoming Women's World Cup edition. The DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai has officially replaced Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium as one of the venues for the showpiece event.
Women's WC Matches Shifted From Bengaluru To Navi Mumbai
As confirmed by the ICC, the Women's World Cup matches that were scheduled at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will now be hosted by the DY Patil Stadium. Therefore, the venue in Navi Mumbai is set to host up to five matches, including three league-stage fixtures, one semifinal clash and potentially the final unless Pakistan Women qualify for the ultimate clash.
However, the timeline of the tournament and the rest of the venues remain unchanged. So, the competition will be played from September 30 to November 2 as per the original schedule, with the games at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium being moved to DY Patil Stadium.
