Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich is reportedly considered a done deal as the Budesliga champions are in advanced talks with Liverpool over a deal for the Colombian. The transfer fee is up to 75 million and the 28-year-old will sign a contract running at least until 2029.

Softfootball understands that Diaz become increasingly frustrated with talks over a contract extension at Liverpool and that has led him to consider a future elsewhere. After the Premier League trophy lift, he was initially open to staying at Anfieldl, expressing his love for the Premier League.

However, after his most impressive season to date in 2024/25, there were talks about a contract extension, but Liverpool have appeared unwilling to meet the Colombian's demands after not seeing the immediate need to, given he still had two years left on his current contract.

Bayern Munich became the front runners to sign him early on this summer, and have continued to push to sign a top-class left winger after the departure of Leroy Sane forced them to add more depth to that area of the pitch. The Bundesliga champions saw two bids rejected before this one convinced Liverpool to let him go .

According to Florian Plettenberg, he shared on his X handle that there has been a breakthrough in negotiations and Luis Diaz to FC Bayern can now be considered a done deal. The tweet reads:

An agreement between Bayern Munich and Liverpool has been reached in principle after the new bid was submitted. Diaz is at the peak of his career, and he will look to hit the ground running in Germany if the transfer goes through.

It will be interesting to see if he can establish himself as a key player for the German champions. Along with Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Federico Chiesa are also expected to leave the club this summer.
