Liverpool have officially announced their squad numbers for the 2025/26 season, with all seven of their summer signings choosing their new shirts ahead of the campaign. In addition, two promising academy graduates have also opted for new numbers.

Softfootball can confirm that it has been a summer of change at Merseyside as Liverpool have spent 269m on transfers, with Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Hugo Ekitike, and Armin Pecsi having joined. Freddie Woodman and Giorgi Mamardashvili also arrived and will now provide back up to Alisson.

Arne Slot's side go into the new season as champions and will aim to kick off their title defence in style when they host Bournemouth in the Premier League opener at Anfield on August 15.

According to statement released on Liverpool official website , Star signing Florian Wirtz will wear the iconic No.7 jersey, recently vacated by Luis Diaz following his transfer to Bayern Munich earlier this week.

New left-back Milos Kerkez has taken the No.6 shirt, while Jeremie Frimpong will wear No.30, the same number he had during his time at Bayer Leverkusen. Forward Hugo Ekitike has been handed 22 by the Reds. He wore 11 at Eintracht Frankfurt last season, a shirt currently held by Mohamed Salah.

In goal, Giorgi Mamardashvili has been given no.25, a number remembered in Liverpool goalkeeping circles as it was held by Pepe Reina during his eight years at Anfield. Other stoppers Freddie Woodman and Armin Pesci have been assigned 28 and 41 respectively.

Among the existing squad, Conor Bradley has moved from No.84 to No.12, and Trey Nyoni has dropped from No.98 to No.42. So, which number would Isak wear if he were to join Liverpool this summer?

Currently, the Swedish international wears 14 at Newcastle having previously worn 19 during his time at former club Real Sociedad. So, if he wants to retain his favoured number 14, current holder Federico Chiesa may have to find another number or move on from the club.

The winger has been linked with a return to his native Italy following a disappointing first season in England. Meanwhile, if Isak prefers 19, Harvey Elliott may be forced to give up his squad number. He, too, has been linked with a potential move away from Anfield this summer. Number 12 is also vacant.
