The Lions dominated the second day of their CSA four-day encounter against the Warriors at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg on Friday, taking control of the match after dismissing the Warriors for a meager total.
Starting their innings on 291 all-out, the Lions got off to a strong start with the ball. The opening partnership of Kwena Maphaka 3/24 and Cody Yusuf 2/11 wreaked havoc on the Warriors' top and middle order, reducing them to a disastrous 15/5 by the seventh over. The Warriors never recovered from this poor start, with only Sinethemba Qeshile 38 managing to provide some resistance, helping the team reach a total of 94 all-out.
The standout bowler for the Lions was Tsepo Moreki, who continued his impressive form, taking 3/17, the best figures of the day. At stumps, the Lions had reached 214/8, leading by 411 runs with two wickets still in hand.
Meanwhile, in Bloemfontein at the Mangaung Oval, the Knights mounted a strong fightback against the Dolphins, making significant inroads into the visitors' large total on the second day of their clash.
