The Central Bank of Liberia CBL is set to officially launch the Inclusive Instant Payment System IIPS on December 16, 2025, marking a major milestone in the country's drive to modernize its national payments infrastructure. The new system will primarily enable instant mobile money transfers between Liberia's two mobile network operators, Lonestar Cell MTN and Orange Liberia.
The launch ceremony will be held at the Ministerial Complex in Congo Town and is expected to bring together key stakeholders from across Liberia's financial ecosystem. Participants will include mobile money operators, commercial banks, financial institutions, government ministries, agencies and commissions, development partners, and international stakeholders.
President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr. will deliver the keynote address at the event, reaffirming the government's commitment to digital transformation under the ARREST Agenda. The initiative underscores the administration's focus on leveraging technology to expand access to inclusive and secure financial services.
