Lake Como is planning tointroduce a day-tripper fee due to the area being overwhelmed by tourists.
According to euronews.com , the lake receives about 1,4 million visitors a year.
Last summer, Villa del Balbianello, the lakeside villa that appeared in theJames Bond and Star Warsfilms, had to limit its daily entries from2 000 to 1 200people to protect the historic house and the lakes environmental integrity.
The mayor of Como,Alessandro Rapinese, says the city will adopt Venices plan to charge daily visitors. However, a start date for the introduction of the fee and its cost have not been announced yet.
