Kun Khalifat FC have announced their immediate withdrawal from the Nigeria Premier Football League NPFL following sanctions imposed on the club for failing to honour their Matchday 24 fixture against El-Kanemi Warriors.
The club made the announcement in an official statement on Wednesday, expressing 'shock, disappointment and outrage" over the NPFL's decision to forfeit them three points and three goals, in addition to imposing a N10 million fine.
Kun Khalifat explained that the affected fixture, scheduled for Monday, February 2, 2026, could not be honoured due to logistical challenges, including the breakdown of the team's vehicles. According to the club, the NPFL Board had been duly informed of the situation in a letter dated February 1, 2026.
