Kingibe Praises Chads Progress Ahead Of Historic Presidential Election

As Chad gears up for its pivotal Presidential election scheduled for May 6, 2024, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, Special Envoy to Chad of the Summit of the Heads of State and Governments of the Lake Chad Basin Commission, has commended the efforts of Transitional Authorities, Chadian citizens, and allies for their contributions towards establishing a democratic constitutional order through peaceful means.

Since May 2021, Ambassador Kingibe and his team have been actively involved in supporting Chads Transition process.

Despite encountering challenges and occasional disagreements, the Chadian populace has showcased patriotism, mutual tolerance, and a commitment to compromise, with the objective of fostering a peaceful, stable, and prosperous democratic society.

In his recent statement, Ambassador Kingibe urged all Presidential candidates, Political Parties, leaders, and citizens to maintain peace and order throughout the election period.

He emphasized the importance of awaiting the official announcement of results by ANGE, the legally authorized body, and encouraged the peaceful resolution of any grievances in accordance with electoral guidelines and legal processes.

As Chad approaches the final stages of its transition journey, Ambassador Kingibe reiterated the unwavering support of the Lake Chad Basin Commissions Leaders.

He expressed optimism for Chads future, anticipating the peaceful inauguration of a new democratic constitutional order in the country.
