Seven South African Police Service officers have been arrested for alleged extortion and kidnapping by the Johannesburg Metro Police Departments Tactical Reaction Unit.
The officers are accused of demanding money from an illegal miner found in possession of gold-refining material.
City of Johannesburg Public Safety MMC Mgcini Tshwaku says the JMPD officers apprehended the SAPS officers on the scene.
