Jeffreys Bay is gearing up for South Africa's biggest sport and music festival as the J-Bay Surf Festival makes its much-anticipated return from 11 to 20 July 2025. With a jam-packed schedule of surfing, music, comedy and adrenaline-fuelled events, the seaside town is set to become the country's ultimate winter destination, Cape town Etc reports.
After a year-long break, the World Surf League WSL Championship Tour is back at the iconic Supertubes, bringing the world's best surfers to one of the planet's most revered right-hand breaks. Local and international wave chasers will once again battle it out on the Eastern Cape coastline in what promises to be a showcase of high-performance surfing.
The action, however, goes far beyond the waves.
The ParkOFF Music Festival will keep the energy pulsing over both weekends, with Grammy Award winner Zakes Bantwini headlining the opening weekend 11-13 July. Joining him will be house and techno legend Dino Moran and festival favourite Dean Fuel. Moran, reflecting on past J-Bay magic, says this will be his 15th appearance at the festival.
'I still remember DJing at the 2010 prize-giving when Jordy Smith won on Mandela Day. The vibe was unreal. This year is shaping up to be just as epic, and I'm ready to bring that same energy again,' said Moran.
