Defence and Military Veterans Minister Angie Motshekga has denied preventing the Chief of the South African Navy SAN, Vice Admiral Monde Lobese, from raising challenges facing the South African National Defence Force SANDF.
However, military leaders must raise their concerns through internal command channels, she said in a recent reply to a parliamentary question by MK Party MP Visven Reddy.
In November, Lobese lamented the defunding of the SANDF and questioned whether those responsible for it were directly or indirectly influenced by these drug cartels, illegal traders, maritime criminals or human traffickers.
