Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka will not join German Bundesliga club Augsburg permanently despite impressing during his loan stint at the club last season,
After three impressive years at Brentford, Onyeka was deemed as surplus to requirements and had to leave the club last summer for a loan stint with Augsburg.
For a player of his quality, Onyeka was expected to give The Fuggerstadter a big lift, and that he did. Onyeka quickly became a regular for Augsburg.
In the just-concluded campaign, the 27-year-old midfielder nicked one assists in 31 appearances for Jess Thorup's team, helping them to a 12th place finish in the Bundesliga.
Augsburg played their last game of the season on Saturday, and just before their game, they revealed the players who were leaving the club and acknowledged them with flowers and murals.
