South Africa's energy market is shifting once again, as Investec has officially been awarded an energy trading licence by the National Energy Regulator of South Africa NERSA.
The licence, valid for 20 years, will allow the bank to supply its Sandton headquarters with privately sourced power while rolling out new renewable energy products for clients, as noted by the Daily Investor .
The development marks what Investec described as another significant milestone in the liberalisation and transformation of the country's energy sector.
