Botswana's Minister of Communications and Innovation, Hon. David Tshere, hosted his first media briefing, unveiling a series of major achievements driving the country's digital transformation agenda.
During the briefing, the Minister announced significant reductions in internet and mobile data prices, a move expected to expand digital access and reduce the cost burden for citizens and businesses. He also highlighted the rapid rollout of fibre-optic infrastructure to underserved communities, ensuring more equitable connectivity across the country.
A key milestone shared was the readiness of the Digital Delta Data Centre, a state-of-the-art national facility set to officially open on 25 November. The centre is expected to strengthen Botswana's digital capacity, enhance data sovereignty, and support the growth of a knowledge-driven economy.
