While Suryakumar Yadav has yet to lose a T20I series as India's captain, his performances with the bat have been ordinary this year. However, former India pacer Varun Aaron believes that if the Mumbai batter gets among the runs in the fifth T20I against South Africa at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday, December 19, it will do a world of good to his confidence.
In the first three T20Is against the Proteas, the 35-year-old scored just 29 runs at an average of 9.67 and a strike rate of 111.54. Aaron also mentioned that India's vice-captain, Shubman Gill, will also want to score some runs in the fifth T20I.
During an interaction on the Star Sports show 'Follow the Blues,' Aaron was asked what Suryakumar would be focusing on in the all-important clash in Ahmedabad on Friday.
