South Africa defeated India by 408 runs in the second Test of the two-match series to seal a commanding 2-0 sweep. Temba Bavuma kept his unbeaten Test record intact as Test skipper as the Proteas annihilated the hosts at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
Being put into field first, India dominated the opening day's play after reducing the opposition to 247/6 at stumps. Although there were many starts in South Africa innings, no one could capitalise. Kuldeep Yadav ended the day with three wickets to his name.
However, Senuran Muthusamy 109 off 206 and Marco Jansen 93 off 91 carried their team to 489 in what was a strong revival on the second day. India ended the day unbeaten at 9/0 in 6.1 overs, with the day having been clearly dominated by the Bavuma-led unit.
