The ICT Authority , in partnership with the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy MICDE , welcomed a high-level delegation from the World Bank led by Dr. Michel Rogy, Regional Practice Director for Digital. The meeting served as a platform to review progress on the Kenya Digital Economy Acceleration Project KDEAP, one of the country's flagship initiatives for digital transformation.
During the discussions, the World Bank reaffirmed its strong support for KDEAP, which is advancing steadily. The project is driving nationwide expansion of high-speed internet, improving the quality and delivery of education and selected government services, and equipping citizens with digital skills to fuel economic growth and position Kenya as a leader in the regional digital economy.
Government representatives stressed their commitment to connecting all public institutions as part of their vision for inclusive access. They also acknowledged the role of the private sector in extending connectivity to communities and end users. By leveraging existing infrastructure, Kenya is fast-tracking broadband rollout to ensure that digital access reaches every citizen.
