Rohit Sharma has the T20 World Cup and the Champions Trophy twice. He also has six Indian Premier League IPL titles under his belt. However, he is desperate to add the ODI World Cup trophy to his cabinet.
Rohit has retired from Tests and T20Is but he has continued playing 50-over cricket with the ambition of winning the upcoming World Cup in 2027. He was the captain of the Indian team which agonisingly lost the 2023 ODI World Cup final to Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Since then, the Nagpur-born has set his sights on the 2027 edition of the tournament, which will be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia.
During a recent event, Rohit became emotional while talking about his aspirations of bagging an ODI World Cup trophy. He stated that the 50-over World Cup was the pinnacle of the sport during his childhood days with events like the T20 World Cup, IPL, and World Test Championship commencing after he had already made his international debut.
