South Africas iconic research vessel, the SA Agulhas, will be auctioned off in a judicial arrest auction next month.
The sale, taking place online via MS Teams, is scheduled for , 22 January 2026, from Berth 205 at the Durban International Container Terminal.
Built in 1977 by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan, the SA Agulhas has long been an integral part of South Africas scientific community, serving the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment for more than three decades.
