The City of Cape Town has signed a historic Memorandum of Agreement with the non-governmental organisation Urban Think Tank Empowerment UTTE.
This transformative partnership heralds a community-led initiative aimed at upgrading designated informal settlements across the city, a move that city officials believe could profoundly alter the landscape of informal housing in the region.
The programme, which is set to launch with a pilot project in the BT Section and Vukani informal settlements of Site C Khayelitsha, is envisioned to enhance the lives of more than 5,000 households.
