Johannesburg residents can expect closures of major roads as the city hosts world leaders for the G20 summit and related meetings between Tuesday, 18 November to Sunday, 23 November 2025.
The Road Traffic Management Corporation RTMC has issued traffic advisories for motorists who use routes that may be affected, urging them to plan their travel in advance.
These measures are necessary as South Africa proudly hosts the G20 summit, a major international event bringing together global leaders. Operations will target high-security routes, including major national highways and central urban arteries, it said.
