South Africa, who are set to play two Tests against India, starting with the first on November 14, recently toured Pakistan for a multi-format series. Aiden Markram-led South Africa faced Shan Masood and Co. in a two-match Test series, which ended 1-1.
Former South African batter Hashim Amla opined that the experience of playing in Pakistan has given the Proteas some excellent practice before the Tests against India. He also credited Cricket South Africa CSA for keeping the players who are in the squad to face India away from white-ball cricket in the lead-up to the tour, hence keeping them fresh for the challenge ahead.
The 41-year-old, who was part of several unforgettable contests between India and South Africa, said both teams are well-balanced heading into the first Test at Eden Gardens. He also mentioned that having some inexperienced players who are touring India for the first time could work in South Africa's favour.
