Harbinger, a U.S. manufacturer of medium-duty electric and hybrid vehicles, has raised 160 million in Series C funding. The round was led by FedEx, Capricorns Technology Impact Fund, and THOR Industries. The deal brings Harbingers total funding to 358 million to date.
FedEx also placed an initial order for 53 electric trucks from the company. These vehicles, a mix of Class 5 and Class 6 models, will be delivered as chassis ready for upfitting later this year. The order supports FedExs long-term goal to electrify its delivery fleet by 2040.
Dipender Saluja of Capricorn said the deal reflects strong demand for medium-duty electric trucks. He noted that the industry is ready to shift from pilot testing to mass adoption. Harbingers platform, he added, is leading that change.
