Hampshire County Cricket Club has made a change to its existing coaching set-up as Russell Domingo has been welcomed as the new head coach for the side. He will be succeeding the likes of Adrian Birrell, also a former South Africa domestic cricketer, who had spent seven seasons with the side as the head coach.
Notably, Domingo has been brought into the set-up with a contract for a couple of years. Speaking of his experience, the 51-year-old has been involved with international teams like South Africa and Bangladesh in the past. He joins Hampshire with a hope to get them past the finishing line, after the side ended as runners-up in the T20 Blast as well as the One-Day Cup in the previous season.
Meanwhile, the county club has also onboarded Jimmy Adams as their assistant coach, whereas Shane Burger will be the assistant bowling coach for Hampshire. Domingo has expressed his excitement to be working alongside the duo and being a forming part of a significant coaching set-up for the next couple of years.
