Guinea Advances Toward Ethical And Sustainable Artificial Intelligence Governance

The Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications, and the Digital Economy MPTEN successfully concluded the National Workshop for the Assessment of the Artificial Intelligence Landscape AILA on Friday, October 17, 2025. The four-day workshop, organized with the support of the United Nations Development Programme UNDP, served as a pivotal forum to evaluate Guinea's readiness for the adoption, regulation, and governance of artificial intelligence.

The workshop brought together a diverse group of participants, including public authorities, private sector representatives, academic institutions, technical experts, and civil society organizations. Through intensive and collaborative discussions, participants conducted a comprehensive review of the country's current capabilities, infrastructure, and institutional framework related to artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

At the conclusion of the workshop, several key recommendations were proposed to guide the next steps in Guinea's digital transformation journey. These include the development of a national strategy for ethical and sustainable AI, the establishment of a clear legal and regulatory framework, strengthening national skills and digital infrastructure, and stimulating local innovation while promoting citizen participation.
