President Cyril Ramaphosa says growing inequality across the world is deepening social divides and threatening global stability.
Speaking at the International Womens Forum in Cape Town on Thursday, Ramaphosa revealed that a new G20 report has sounded the alarm on what he called an inequality emergency.
He says the findings show how wealth accumulation remains heavily skewed in favour of the richest one percent 1 while the poorest continue to fall behind.
