The government aims to diversify South Africa's Global Business Services GBS sector beyond traditional contact centre operations and major cities, Trade, Industry and Competition DTIC Deputy Minister Zuko Godlimpi says.

He was delivering a keynote address at the Business Process Enabling South Africa's BPESA 2025 GBS Investor Conference and Exhibition at the Nkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban on Tuesday 4 November.

South Africa aims to diversify GBS sector

The GBS sector, also known as Business Process Outsourcing BPO, employs around 150,000 professionals serving international markets. Over 30,000 of these jobs are filled through impact sourcing, thus creating inclusive opportunities for previously unemployed youth, Godlimpi said.
