Govt Must Implement Trc's Recommendations: Saftu

govt must implement trcs recommendations saftu

The South African Federation of Trade Unions Saftu says the government should focus on implementing the recommendations made by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission TRC instead of establishing another commission.

Saftu has expressed its dissatisfaction with the establishment of a Judicial Commission of Inquiry into the delays encountered in investigating and prosecuting TRC cases.

It states that it is a waste of taxpayers money.

The Union's spokesperson Newton Masuku says commissions have been assembled in the past, but have not yielded any positive outcomes.

Masuku says, If the history of commissions is anything to go by, theres no reason why we should believe that the investigations and the recommendations of this now to be assembled commission will be implemented."
