Google has launched a new programme, , aimed at equipping 1,000 Nigerian developers with skills in generative artificial intelligence AI. The initiative, rolled out in partnership with technology training firm GOMYCODE, seeks to enable participants to build innovative, locally relevant, and globally competitive AI-driven solutions.
Speaking on the programme, John Kimani, Googles Head of Developer Ecosystem for Sub-Saharan Africa, described the move as a significant step towards accelerating Nigerias role in the global AI economy.

Our collaboration with GOMYCODE is about more than just training its about empowering this community with the tools and expertise they need to build the future, Kimani said.
