Public Governance expert, Prof Purshottama Reddy, says the Government of National Unity GNU cannot be expected to solve all of South Africas problems one year after its establishment.
He spoke during a webinar that the University of KwaZulu-Natal UKZN in Durban hosted yesterday. June marks the first anniversary of the GNU.
Reddy says, "Firstly, the Government of National Unity has been in office for about a year. Now, we cannot expect the Government of National Unity in its intended lifespan to fix all the rules of the country which are unrealistic."
"However, it has made a good start, bearing in mind that it takes time before legislation, policy and framework can be implemented," he adds. - Reporting by Taresh Harreeparshad and Hoosen Ebrahim.
