Humanitarian aid organisation, Gift of the Givers says more rescue teams will head to Mthatha in the Eastern Cape today after recent heavy rains and flooding that claimed at least 79 lives.
It says they will assist in the search for bodies. They recovered eight bodies last night.
In addition to this, the organisation has been providing water, food, nappies and blankets to centres where destitute people have been placed.
Founder, Imtiaz Sooliman says, "We stand with the lives of the people who are missing. So, we brought a water searching recovery team. We found eight bodies yesterday, six adults and two children. Our teams are on site in Slovo right now, working. The other team working for SAPS has gone to Lusikisiki.
Ill bring another team this afternoon. Five more team members are flying in this afternoon to assist the first team.
