Ghana's Ministry Of Communication Partners With Cisco On One Million Coders Certification Initiative

The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations has announced a new partnership with Cisco Systems to support the government's ambitious One Million Coders Programme, aimed at equipping Ghanaians with globally recognized digital skills and certifications.

During a recent meeting between the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George MP, and representatives from Cisco led by Imoh Akpan, Business Development Manager for Nigeria, South Africa, and Ghana, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to building a digitally skilled workforce that will anchor Ghana's transition into an innovation-driven economy.

Under the collaboration, Cisco will provide certification pathways and learning resources to Ghanaian learners enrolled in the One Million Coders Programme. The initiative seeks to train and certify professionals across key digital domains including Artificial Intelligence AI, Cybersecurity, Data Forensics, and Cloud Computing. It forms part of a larger effort by the Ghanaian government to partner with global technology leaders such as Google, Huawei, Microsoft, and Amazon Web Services AWS to build a future-ready workforce.
